Abstract generation in progress

Jinse Finance reported that OpenAI’s nonprofit foundation announced it will provide $40.5 million in donations this year to 208 nonprofit organizations across the United States that support local communities. This is the largest external philanthropic commitment made by the AI giant to date. The donations are intended to “expand opportunities in artificial intelligence” and will be used to support work in the following three areas: AI literacy and public understanding, community innovation, and economic opportunity. This donation is the largest nonprofit expenditure OpenAI has made so far, but it still represents only a small fraction compared to the foundation’s approximately $130 billion in equity value following a recent corporate restructuring. A recent tax filing shows that last year, the OpenAI foundation donated $7.5 million.
