EIA raises its forecast for WTI and Brent crude oil prices for the next two years, covering this year and next year as well

Gate News message: On April 7, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) released its Short-Term Energy Outlook report, raising its forecasts for crude oil prices for 2026 and 2027. It expects 2026 WTI crude oil (West Texas Intermediate) to average $87.41 per barrel, up from the prior forecast of $73.61 per barrel; it expects 2027 WTI crude oil prices to be $72.43 per barrel, up from the prior forecast of $60.81 per barrel. It expects 2026 Brent crude (the international benchmark) to average $96.00 per barrel, up from the prior forecast of $78.84 per barrel; it expects 2027 Brent crude prices to be $76.09 per barrel, up from the prior forecast of $64.47 per barrel.
