Q2 is an amazing opportunity to buy altcoin?

As Bitcoin continues to dominate with an increasing market share, many analysts believe that the second quarter of 2025 will be an ideal time to accumulate altcoins.

The market capitalization of altcoins has decreased by 40% compared to the all-time high (ATH), falling below $1 trillion. Many altcoin investors are facing losses. However, analysts believe that this could be a setup stage for the upcoming altcoin season.

Will the altcoin season occur in Q2?

Joao Wedson, an analyst from Alphractal, pointed out that many altcoins are underperforming in the current market cycle (2022–2025).

In a post on X, Wedson highlighted that some altcoins have returned to their starting price, which was once hyped as “to the moon.” This indicates an accumulation phase, making it a good time to place buy orders at lower prices.

However, I still believe that from April to May, the crypto market will heat up even if BTC drops further, as we still have lower targets," predicted Joao Wedson, founder of Alphractal.

Wedson advises investors to focus on altcoin projects with solid fundamentals and growth potential. He suggests avoiding coins that have surged in 2024, such as ETH, SOL, and TRX. The strategy is to be patient and buy in at low prices – a cautious yet promising approach.

Meanwhile, renowned analyst Ash Crypto predicts that when Bitcoin’s dominance reaches 70%, it will signal the peak of Bitcoin. Historically, this level has marked the beginning of an altcoin season in the following months.

Currently, BTC.D is still above 60% with no signs of weakening. Ash Crypto’s forecast reinforces the belief that Q2 and Q3 of 2025 could mark the beginning of a significant altcoin bull run.

In addition, experienced trader Merlijn agrees with this outlook. In a recent post on X, he predicted that an altcoin season similar to 2021 is approaching.

“The altcoin season is forming – just like in 2021… the next 3–6 months could shape your investment portfolio.”

However, the Cryptocurrency Fear and Greed Index has recently dropped to 25 points, indicating an “Extreme Fear” sentiment. Concerns over escalating trade wars are increasing investors’ anxiety.

Some analysts, such as Coin Bureau founder Nic Puckrin, believe that Bitcoin is not in a bear market, but the future of some altcoins remains a question mark.
