Scott Melker, a cryptocurrency trader and investor known as "The Wolf of All Streets," stated that he learned someone was using his face and name to scam people, with at least one victim being defrauded of $4 million. On April 23, this cryptocurrency investor said, "I feel very angry." He revealed that a private investigator contacted him to inform him that one of his clients had been scammed out of $4 million by a Nigerian fraud gang using his name and face as bait. "They clearly scammed a lot of people," Merkel said, adding, "They also sent him a forged driver's license to prove it was me." They also used his profile picture from the X platform as the photo. "The scammers used artificial intelligence to generate this fake ID and employed a seemingly realistic fake email account. 'They also conducted video calls via Zoom, using artificial intelligence to disguise their identity,' Merck said, 'These methods are clearly quite sophisticated.' He also mentioned that the scammers even forged accounts for his wife and child to further verify their identity."
