Dear friends, just yesterday the United States suddenly announced new tariffs on solar products from four Southeast Asian countries: Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, and Malaysia. Specifically, the lowest tariff is 41.56% for Malaysia, while Cambodia, due to its non-cooperation with the US investigation, will face a new tariff of over 3500%. This tariff imposition is reportedly due to the willingness of some domestic US companies, which believe that these solar enterprises from Southeast Asia are backed by substantial government subsidies, allowing them to sell at low prices in the US, thus posing a serious unfair competition to related US companies. Of course, this is part of the economic reasons, but clearly, the more significant factor is the political reason. The specific countries targeted by the US for increased tariffs reveal that Vietnam, Cambodia, and Malaysia were precisely those visited by the Chinese side last week. The timing of the US imposing tariffs on them carries a strong implication: that is, if you dare to get close to China, I will punish you. This is not a particularly new idea.
Recently, many media outlets have reported that when the US negotiates tariffs with various countries, it often attaches the condition of reducing interactions with China. The US has always followed a strategy of carrots and sticks; if you don't heed the carrot, then I can only serve you the stick. Therefore, in the future, various countries are likely to face immense pressure from the US to choose sides between the US and China.
In addition, after the ETH increase, a whale sold 15,000 ETH on-chain for 24.905 million USDT in the past 15 minutes, with an average selling price of $1660.
Is ETH so unpopular right now? Every time it rises a bit, there are whales selling or shorting 😂!
Ethereum is doomed, now the staking market value of SOL has surpassed Ethereum, just sell Ethereum, haha!
