Interactive Brokers opens stablecoin deposit for US retail investors

Bloomberg reports that the US brokerage giant Interactive Brokers has now allowed retail investors to use stablecoins for deposits. Interactive Brokers is a platform used by many overseas individuals to trade US stocks; for example, Taiwanese traders usually use overseas brokers or omnibus accounts for US stock trading. Among overseas brokers, Interactive Brokers and Firstrade are the main players. Allowing stablecoin deposits can save retail investors from high transaction fees and enables funds to arrive within seconds, avoiding lengthy procedures.

However, this stablecoin deposit service is currently limited to the US region, but Interactive Brokers has indicated that it will be gradually expanded.

Interactive Brokers opens USDC deposits on the Ethereum, Base, and Solana chains

It is reported that the stablecoin deposit service of Interactive Brokers is provided by its invested payment infrastructure Zerohash. Zerohash completed a Series D funding round on September 23 this year, raising US$104 million from investors including Morgan Stanley, Interactive Brokers, and Apollo Global Management.

According to a video released by Zerohash the day before yesterday, deposits can be made via USDC on the Base, Solana, and Ethereum chains, reducing deposit costs, operating 24/7, and enabling instant fund transfers.
