Ag Groups Urge Mosaic, J.R. Simplot to Renounce Fertilizer Duties

A coalition of 64 agricultural groups, led by the National Corn Growers Association, has called on Mosaic Company and J.R. Simplot to advocate for the removal of duties on imported phosphate products from Morocco. Citing the impact of the Middle East conflict and already high U.S. input prices, the groups argue that these duties contribute to increased fertilizer costs and shortages, negatively affecting U.S. agricultural security. The duties were initially imposed in 2020 following a petition by Mosaic, which was supported by J.R. Simplot, alleging unfair foreign subsidies.
