"Faithful Trader" Busted for Crypto Con Job in Brazil
I still can't believe what this guy pulled off. Mario Borges—better known around Natal as the "Crente Trader" (Faithful Trader)—has apparently vanished with MILLIONS of dollars from unsuspecting investors. From selling musical instruments to driving luxury cars and wearing fancy suits, this guy's transformation should have been everyone's first red flag!
His ridiculous catchphrases make my skin crawl. "Good morning, brokers!" and claiming he operates at "750 hertz" frequency? Are you kidding me? What does that even mean? Classic con artist nonsense that somehow worked on DOCTORS and POLICE OFFICERS! If the authorities can't spot a scammer, what hope do regular folks have?
The worst part? I've seen this playbook before. First, sell worthless "trading courses" with content freely available on YouTube, then use that credibility to lure victims into the real scheme—a classic Ponzi operation promising 6% monthly returns. One victim commented they paid 1,000 reals (about a month's minimum wage) for garbage information. It breaks my heart.
Some poor souls lost over 1 million reals each! The predatory nature of targeting professionals—lawyers, doctors, civil police, tax auditors—shows how calculated Borges was. These weren't naive investors; these were educated people who still got suckered.
By July, when the scheme started collapsing, this snake was pushing harder, promising 10% returns to anyone who'd invest "right now"—the classic desperation move of a fraudster trying to stay afloat with fresh cash.
Now he's disappeared. No trace. About 150 victims left holding the bag while this charlatan is probably sipping cocktails somewhere with their money.
The most infuriating part? This isn't some sophisticated financial crime—it's the same old scam with a crypto wrapper. But people keep falling for it because greed blinds even the smartest among us. And the cycle continues.
