South Korea's opposition parties once again submitted a "special prosecution law for civil unrest" to the National Assembly

On January 9th, Jinshi data reported that, according to South Korean media, the opposition party in South Korea resubmitted the “Internal Rebellion Special Prosecutor Law” to the National Assembly on the 9th, which was rejected the previous day. Park Zanda, the representative of the largest opposition party, the Democratic Party of Korea, said at a policy adjustment meeting held in the National Assembly that the content added to the bill this time includes the suspension of President Yin Seok-yue to rationalize his declaration of martial law, and the plan to induce the North Korean military to launch a military attack on South Korea. In addition, the bill will also modify the recommendation method for independent prosecutor candidates to a third-party recommendation. South Korean media also reported that the opposition party plans to transfer the recommendation authority for independent prosecutor candidates to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
