Concerns over tariffs eased, and U.S. inflation expectations dropped to a three-month low.
According to ChainCatcher news and Jin10 reports, Joanne Hsu, director of the Consumer Survey at the University of Michigan, stated that the one-year inflation expectation in the U.S. has decreased from 6.6% last month to 5.1% this month. Long-term inflation expectations have fallen for the second consecutive month, from 4.2% in May to 4.1%. Both indices are at their lowest levels in three months. Concerns among consumers about the potential impact of tariffs on future inflation eased in June. Nevertheless, inflation expectations remain above the levels for the second half of 2024, reflecting a general belief that trade policies may still lead to an increase in inflation over the next year.
