Babylon Secures $8 Million in Seed Funding on January 1, 2022

According to media reports, Layer 1 blockchain project Babylon completed an $8 million Seed funding round on January 1, 2022. The round was backed by prominent institutions including IDG Capital and Breyer Capital.Babylon is a Layer 1 blockchain project founded by Stanford University professor David Tse, dedicated to bringing Bitcoin’s unparalleled security to all Proof-of-Stake (PoS) blockchains without incurring additional energy costs. The project team comprises Stanford researchers, experienced developers, and seasoned business advisors, demonstrating strong technical expertise and industry experience.Since its Seed round, Babylon has shown robust growth momentum. In March 2023, the project launched its testnet; in December 2023, it completed an $18 million Series A funding round; in February 2024, it secured additional financing; in May 2024, it raised $70 million in another funding round; and in August of the same year, the mainnet officially went live. Subsequently, the project introduced the BABY token with a total supply of 10 billion, of which 15% is allocated for community incentives.
