I've had a question lingering in my mind for a long time—what does cryptocurrency really mean for all of us? After nearly nine years in this industry, I feel like we've lost our way somewhere. Institutions have arrived, technology has advanced, but something is being lost—the soul for which we were doing all this.

It's not just a matter of price. The real issue is that we've forgotten why we actually started. There's a very deep idea in the Dune novel—'The Golden Path.' It means humanity must learn to the core that there is no difference between safe comfort and complete death. We naturally create empires, whether they are nations or corporations, but the bigger the empire, the more destructive its fall.

Today, three possibilities seem to be emerging. First—uncontrolled capitalism where big companies control everything. Second—nationalism where governments keep everything under control. Third—fascism where governments and corporations unite. All of these offer you 'secure happiness,' but they take away your freedom.

What was the real promise of cryptocurrency? That something should be created which prioritizes your personal sovereignty above all. Something that works outside national borders. That considers 'insecurity' a feature, not a flaw.

But what happened? Between 2022 and 2024, we learned the biggest lesson incorrectly. Regulatory pressure came, and central institutions bought up half of crypto. What was our response? To put the right people in the right places. Wrong thinking. We forgot that the real fight isn't with regulators but to create something they can't control.

People talk about user experience, but for the wrong people. They try to make Bitcoin easy for payments, while the real need is for those 50% of people who truly need sovereignty. In developing countries where governments have full control, or in developed countries where privacy laws are being enacted.

Our goal should be clear—build things that no court notice can affect. That do not depend on: fiat entry/exit, app stores, DNS, centralized stablecoins. Adopt permissionless protocols. Properly build DAOs, not with fake governance shows. Reinforce algorithmic stablecoins.

We must protect privacy. This isn’t the dream of anarcho-capitalism—it’s about creating a parallel economy. A place where ordinary people don’t need anyone’s permission.

Maybe it’s not entirely possible to run away right now, but at least we can start creating something that opens a path for future generations. There will come a day when cryptocurrency is no longer trending, but what we build will still work. Because it will be independent of the outside world. And most importantly—it will give us the chance to do work that truly matters.
