just been looking into how much is a condo in different cities and honestly some places are way more reasonable than i thought. like you can actually find decent apartments and condos under $100K in several markets if you know where to look. most people think that's impossible but it's not everywhere.
been reading about cities like Austin, Cincinnati, Indianapolis where the real estate market is still pretty accessible. Austin's got those pockets of affordability on the outskirts, Cincinnati has this low cost of living thing going on, and Indianapolis is similar but you'd probably need to check the suburbs. the thing about how much is a condo varies so much depending on location - in San Francisco you're looking at like $800K median but in Cleveland it was around $161K according to some old market data.
Orlando's interesting because there's just so many condos available that prices stay lower. Portland and Salt Lake City also have options if you're willing to look outside the main areas. the whole rent-to-own thing is another angle too if you're already renting somewhere. honestly curious how much is a condo going for in these markets right now in 2026 since things probably shifted. the affordability factor really depends on whether you're buying a straight-up condo where you get the deed, or a co-op where you're buying into the building - co-ops have way stricter rules from what i read.
anyone actually found deals under $100K recently? feels like how much is a condo has gotten trickier to find at that price point but these cities seem like they're still worth checking out if you're serious about it
