Gate News, April 6 – According to CCTV's International News report, U.S. President Donald Trump addressed the Iran issue with the media while attending an event at the White House. Trump stated that, according to Eastern US time, Tuesday (April 7) is the final deadline, “unchangeable.” Trump reiterated, “Iran must not possess nuclear weapons,” saying that during his first term, he tore up the comprehensive Iran nuclear deal and assassinated the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Quds Force, then-General Qassem Soleimani, “to prevent Israel from being wiped off the map.” Trump affirmed that Iran has achieved “regime change,” and said that Iran’s current leadership is negotiating with the US “more reasonably and cooperatively,” but also mentioned that “they (Iran) insist on not submitting, but in the end, they will soften—if they don’t soften, they will be empty-handed.” Trump also said that if given the choice, he would “take (Iran’s oil),” because “oil is right within reach, they (Iran) can’t do anything about it, I will make a lot of money.” When asked by a reporter, “If the US has repeatedly claimed that Iran’s military forces have been destroyed, why does the conflict still continue?” Trump replied, “They (Iran) still have some missiles and drones. They are lucky because they managed to shoot down a (U.S. military aircraft).”
