JUST IN: Russia will exempt cryptocurrency exchange and custody services from VAT.
The Russian government is preparing to exempt cryptocurrency transactions and custody services from value added tax (VAT) as part of a major initiative to regulate cryptocurrency operations in the country.
The necessary legislation has already been drafted. It also regulates the taxation of profits generated by entities that carry out these activities and the personal income of cryptocurrency traders.
