Today I went to the clinic to see my GP (general practitioner), and I suddenly noticed a huge professional microphone on his desk. Curious, I asked him if he was still doing live streams at the clinic? 😅
He, with a deadpan expression, told me that it was a new AI tool recently added to help him save a lot of work time.
I was really surprised to see that even in the lagging Australia, AI has already been integrated into frontline clinics?? I immediately asked him about it for a while. Turns out, this tool automatically records patient medical records and can organize them in the current mainstream medical record format.
Those familiar with the healthcare industry should know that most of a doctor’s workload isn’t just seeing patients, but writing medical records. It’s no exaggeration to say that about 60-70% of their time is spent on this, especially when cases are complex.
Now the GP said that as soon as he opens his Mac, the medical records are automatically written by the time the patient leaves. He just needs to glance over and make slight corrections, greatly improving efficiency.
I was shocked and asked if all clinics in Australia are now using this? He snorted and said that private clinics buy these themselves; public hospitals don’t have this treatment, but he thinks the money was well spent.
I’ve always believed that AI startups should focus on industry-specific applications and customized products. Last month, I was still discussing with friends about applications in the golf industry. Today, I saw that someone has already developed and sold such a product, even in a highly barriered industry like healthcare, and the feedback has been good...
Suddenly, I felt a bit restless. I can’t keep slacking off waiting for the market to move. I need to get active, or I’ll be late 😳😳😳
