Farcaster has just taken a strategic step to expand its user base by removing registration barriers. The decentralized social media protocol announced in late October that it has opened registration access for free to all new users.

Previously, anyone wanting to join Farcaster had to meet two conditions: possess an exclusive invitation code or pay a registration fee of $5 USD. This policy change means users can now register without any expenses, making the platform more accessible to a wider community.

This move reflects Farcaster's commitment to mass adoption, given the intense competition in the decentralized social space. By eliminating the entry fee, the protocol hopes to attract more users interested in exploring blockchain-based social media alternatives.
