Venus Discloses Attack Investigation Progress: Attacker Spent 9 Months Accumulating Tokens to Bypass Supply Cap

Crypto News: On March 16, Venus Protocol shared the latest update from its risk management team, Allez Labs, regarding the investigation into yesterday’s attack incident: Venus suffered a supply cap manipulation attack on its core pool on the BNB Chain. Starting from June 2025, the attacker spent nine months gradually accumulating THE tokens, reaching 84% of the supply cap (approximately 14.5 million tokens). Then, by directly transferring funds to the protocol contract, the attacker bypassed the normal deposit process and completely circumvented the supply cap, establishing a position of 53.2 million THE tokens (3.67 times the cap). Exploiting the low on-chain liquidity of THE, the attacker manipulated the TWAP oracle through recursive operations, and after pushing the price from $0.27 to $0.53, borrowed a large amount of other assets. #加密市场上涨 #Gate广场AI测评官
