BlockBeats News, March 2 — Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced that a data center in the United Arab Emirates caught fire around 4:30 AM on March 1. The incident was caused by an unknown object striking the facility and sparking a fire, resulting in the outage of the availability zone coded mec1-az2.
To assist firefighting efforts, the facility has been powered down. AWS states that restoring connectivity in the affected area is expected to take several hours, and other availability zones within the UAE are operating normally.
