How to discover a DeFi project that is currently being built. It all started quite casually. That day, @DuskFoundation interns simply opened the DuskEVM testnet, casually checked the recent contract interaction records to see who was using it and what was being deployed. Most of the names looked familiar, and occasionally there would be an address that clearly was just a temporary test, but in the middle, there was an unfamiliar name: Magnetar Finance. Unlike memes, and more than just a one-time test account, the contract calls were not scattered; there was continuous activity. So I noted down this name. The next step was to search for the project name directly on GitHub, without high expectations. I thought I would see at most one or two repositories, but it turned out to be an organization account with a row of repos underneath. I took a quick look at the names: contracts, routing, indexers, frontend, wallets, and several clearly utility and infrastructure modules. Opening the commit records, I found they weren’t all pushed on the same day but updated every few days. Someone is maintaining it continuously. Browsing further, the repository structure isn’t chaotic; many parts show they are forked from mature DeFi projects but are already being adapted for DuskEVM. Comments, directory structure, and file naming are very consistent, indicating it’s not just a haphazard patchwork. Then I clicked on a link that didn’t seem very important: a design system. I initially thought it wouldn’t open, but it was a deployed page containing a complete component system: buttons, forms, interaction states, indicating that the frontend and contracts are progressing in sync. Continuing to explore the design system, I found a planned page structure. The DEX section includes trading, liquidity, governance, and data panels, which correspond exactly to the contracts and indexers seen earlier. The wallet part has also been separated: assets, transfers, bridges, payments. Each part can be found in the repository, so there’s little need to guess anymore. A clear DeFi project is emerging. The testnet has been online for a short time, and most modules have been set up. The only thing confirmed so far is one fact: this project indeed exists and is actively being developed.
