Recently, I came across a new cross-chain liquidity protocol called ORBT and wanted to discuss the project's logic with everyone.

The core idea isn't complicated—currently, the problem is that liquidity is too fragmented. Solana, Polkadot, Avalanche each operate independently, and users trading across different chains face either poor liquidity or high slippage. ORBT aims to unify these scattered liquidity pools and build a programmable aggregation platform.

My understanding is this: it wants to become a cross-chain liquidity hub. Not only does it aggregate trading pairs from various chains, but it also has a DeFi scoring system—essentially giving each project a risk assessment. This can indeed help users choose more reliable DeFi applications.

But there are also some tough realities.

First is technical difficulty. Cross-chain aggregation sounds simple, but in reality, it involves multi-chain interactions, smart contract security, and the stability of cross-chain bridges. If any part encounters issues—such as flash loan attacks or bridge vulnerabilities—the entire system could collapse.

Second is competitive pressure. The Cosmos ecosystem is already working on cross-chain solutions, and Avalanche has its own multi-chain strategy. If these established players simply copy this logic, will new projects still have a chance?

There's also the credibility issue of the DeFi scoring system. Who will review these scores? Could they be manipulated by big capital to favor certain projects? This is a question that needs careful consideration.

That said, the cross-chain + liquidity aggregation track is definitely heating up. If ORBT can stabilize this system, it could significantly impact the current DEX landscape. Whether it will succeed depends on future technological iterations and ecosystem development.

Public chains like DOT, AVAX, and ATOM are all paying attention to such solutions. The market outlook remains worth watching.
DOT-1,41%
AVAX-0,86%
ATOM5,39%

ngl, the scoring system angle is where it gets sus... who's actually auditing this stuff, right? feels like it'll get gamed within weeks.

Cross-chain stuff sounds great, but in practice it's a nightmare. What if the bridge breaks? The scoring system is even more ridiculous. Who guarantees it won't be messed up by capital? Why not just copy Cosmos and Avalanche directly? What does ORBT have to compete with...

Cross-chain aggregation sounds great, but if the bridge blows up, everything's ruined. That's the real core risk. --- I'm really skeptical about the DeFi rating system—if big players say it's good, does that mean it's really good? --- If Cosmos folks really step in, what will happen to ORBT? --- Slippage issues are indeed annoying, but achieving stability is the key. --- The pain point of liquidity fragmentation is valid; the crucial question is who can survive until the end. --- I think we should wait until they go live on the mainnet before making any judgments. Right now, it's all talk. --- The multi-chain war has just begun. ORBT's approach is good, but their opponents are no pushovers. --- I've calculated the likelihood of the rating system being manipulated, and it's quite high. --- The security of cross-chain bridges keeps failing; does ORBT dare to take on this responsibility? --- Ecosystem development is the key; technology is secondary, to be honest. --- Instead of focusing on ORBT, I'm more interested in how its competitors will respond.

I'm really a bit worried about the scoring system; it feels like it could easily become a cash machine for big players. But this idea is indeed interesting. If cross-chain liquidity aggregation really becomes successful, it could change a lot of patterns. The attack methods used in flash loans are now so sophisticated. Does ORBT dare to directly tackle such complex stuff? They really have guts. The Cosmos team probably is also thinking about how to take down new players once they see this. It still seems best to wait until they stabilize the fundamentals, or else it could become the next cross-chain nightmare.

It's another cross-chain dreamer. Why not start by solving the issues of a single chain? --- As for the scoring system, I just have to say, big capital coming in is just a tool for the little guys. --- Sounds nice, but in reality, it's just another round of cutting liquidity miners. --- It's 2024, and the flash loan issue is still being repeated. Aren't you afraid? --- If Cosmos and Avalanche really get serious, ORBT is nothing. --- Cross-chain aggregation is essentially a pseudo-need. No matter how you try to aggregate fragmented liquidity, it's pointless. --- The technical stability can't be passed, and no one can solve the security issues of bridges. --- Don't rush to get off. Wait until the ecosystem is established. Those who are entering now are just bagholders.
