Many beginners entering the crypto space often experience losses not because they choose the wrong coins, but because their trading logic is a mess. Today, I summarize 6 most practical trading bottom lines. Follow them, and at least you can survive longer.

**Rule 1: Position first, then operation**

Only consider adding to your position when you have unrealized gains—that's an iron law. Want to add when you're trapped? That's mostly emotions controlling your trades. Ask yourself—if you had no position now, would you buy this coin? If you can't answer clearly, don't act, or even consider reducing your position.

**Rule 2: The rhythm is all in the intraday chart**

Don't rush to cut during a sharp decline; intraday fluctuations are often just shakeouts. Pay attention to sudden upward movements before the close; you can sell part of your holdings first, as there's a high chance of a retest tomorrow. There's also a signal that's easy to overlook—volume surges wildly, but the price remains still. That's not an opportunity; it's a sign someone is distributing.

**Rule 3: Use the simplest moving averages**

No need for complicated technical indicators. For short-term trading, just look at the 5-day moving average. Hold when above, exit when below. For swing trading, refer to the 20-day moving average—go with the trend, and you'll get twice the result with half the effort. Don't fight the trend; that's self-sabotage.

**Rule 4: Set your stop-loss when entering**

Accept losses when they happen; don't hold on stubbornly. Holding onto a short-term loss into the medium term usually signals the start of bigger losses. After making a profit, adjust your target accordingly—take profits after a rise, and if the pullback exceeds your expectations, exit.

**Rule 5: Watch resilience during big drops**

If the index drops but your coin remains steady, it indicates support from funds. If it rebounds the next day, it's likely cleaning out retail investors' chips. Such coins are often safer than chasing the rising stars.

**Rule 6: Keep emotions at bay, avoid chasing highs**

Chasing the rise usually means buying at the top. The right entry point is during a pullback, not at emotional peaks. Don't rush to cut during a decline; if key support isn't broken, give it time. If support breaks, then it's time to exit—it's not too late.

Markets are open every day; there's no need to rush for opportunities. Master these rules, execute them repeatedly and properly, and first ensure you don't get eliminated. The rest is left to time to verify.

That's right, but you need to have some resolve when executing. I used to be ruined by emotional trading.

That's right, you just have to live long enough to profit in the end. My favorite saying is "Don't go against the trend." How many times have I lost because I did exactly that?

That's right, position management is the lifeline. I use multi-signature wallets for cold storage and never stay on exchanges for too long, which can cut the risk factor in half.

That's quite right, but most people simply can't do it. The most painful part is stopping losses. I've seen too many people shouting about admitting defeat, but still holding onto their positions, and in the end, they lose everything.

Honestly, setting stop-losses is the hardest part. I often get emotionally hijacked, always thinking that the next candlestick will recover the losses.
