A couple of days ago, I saw a trader's short-term ETH options spread strategy, with a sizable position—5000 ETH contracts, and just the premium paid amounts to 7 ETH.

The core idea of the strategy is very clear: betting that ETH will not make a significant move in the next two days. It could slightly rise, stay sideways, or even have a small pullback, as long as there’s no rapid surge.

From a profit perspective, as long as ETH stays within the 3211 to 3388 range, you can collect the premiums passively. But the risk is quite sharp—the downside is locked in by the premium (at most losing those 7 ETH), but if ETH breaks through 3400, losses can quickly escalate. This kind of high-probability but asymmetrical payoff strategy tests one’s ability to judge short-term trends and maintain disciplined stop-loss practices.
