The most easily overlooked source of risk in DeFi is often not in the smart contract logic, but in the data itself.

Price feed delays, single data sources, abnormal fluctuations—these all sound like minor issues, but when market volatility intensifies, these flaws can amplify the risk tenfold. A natural question is: in real on-chain incidents, the root cause is rarely due to poorly designed products; more often, it’s because data has gone awry under extreme conditions. Frequent abnormal liquidations, system crashes, skyrocketing user operation costs—all point back to the same issue—insufficient data reliability.

Some infrastructure providers are working to make data services truly trustworthy public capabilities. How? Redundant backups, multi-source verification, fail-safes under pressure, and completely transparent results. It sounds simple, but in reality, this is the key to whether the DeFi ecosystem can support more complex financial structures.

Once data is stable, protocols dare to innovate. Funds are willing to stay long-term in the ecosystem. Only then can the ecosystem truly expand in scale.

If you’re doing long-term value screening, consider this from another perspective: When can you truly assess the capability of an infrastructure? Not during calm, uneventful periods, but during stress tests under extreme market conditions. That’s the true litmus test.

Data reliability has indeed been seriously underestimated. A single price feed delay can wipe out an entire position. These infrastructure providers are really doing hard labor.

Well said. The last wave of extreme market conditions revealed that some price feeds directly got stuck, and the liquidation mechanism is as fragile as paper. Data has indeed been overlooked. No matter how sophisticated the contract is, without reliable data sources, it's all pointless. Really, stress testing is the true touchstone; when everything is calm, anyone can handle it. I knew I had to run the moment the price feed delay occurred. Not all infrastructure can withstand it. It still depends on how well redundancy backups are implemented; multi-source verification is really crucial. Wait, isn't this the root cause of the incident in some protocol...

"喂价延迟" lmao, everyone acts shocked when it happens but like... we've been calling this out since 2020. data reliability isn't sexy so nobody funds it properly, then surprised pikachu face when liquidations go haywire during volatility. the real tell is watching infrastructure crumble under pressure—that's when the varnish comes off.

At the end of the day, data is still the most prone to failure. I've seen too many projects boast excessively, only to fall apart when the market fluctuates.

The key point is that extreme market conditions are the true test of a crystal ball. I totally agree with that. After experiencing several rounds of crashes, unreliable data can really mess with people. --- Once again, the market has taught us a lesson, but seeing through the data risks makes me feel that opportunities are emerging. --- You're so right. Infrastructure capacity under stress testing is what makes an asset worth holding long-term. Rebuilding confidence starts with recognizing the risks. --- I knew why big players could always escape early the moment the price feed lagged—that's all due to data issues. --- It's stable now, finally someone explained this thoroughly. The bottom range is exactly when you test whose infrastructure is truly impressive. --- Oh my, was the 2018 halving really a data problem? No wonder the liquidation was so outrageous. --- If we don't solve the data issues, no matter how innovative the protocol, it's just a paper tiger. Rebirth requires first cultivating internal strength. --- Wait, does that mean the data layer of DeFi is still so fragile? That’s the real risk point.
