Meta's top AI researcher, Yann LeCun, challenges the popular narrative around "genius AI." Instead of chasing the myth of superintelligent systems, he argues the focus should be on building practical, grounded AI that solves real-world problems. His perspective offers a refreshing take on where AI development should actually head.

Damn, finally someone dares to tell the truth. The narrative of superintelligence that has been fooling people should have been shattered long ago. Those still promoting AGI as a savior are just hyping concepts and scamming investors.

Yann, this guy is right. Compared to those bragging superintelligences, it's better to focus on something real and useful. There are many practical problems to solve.

Here we go again, with the same set of "pragmatism" rhetoric. LeCun is right, but very few projects are truly implementable.

I love hearing what LeCun says. Constantly hyping up super intelligence is just ridiculous. It would be better to develop something that can actually solve problems.

Yann is right, a bunch of people talk about being super smart all day long, but they can't get anything done... Instead of bragging, it's better to focus on doing the job at hand well.
