All along, I have a special fondness for long-term solutions that can solve practical problems, which is also why I am so interested in new directions in identity management.

The current approach is actually simple: giving you a complete identity record that you control yourself. It can be accessed anytime and anywhere, without geographical restrictions — this is true data sovereignty. Imagine your identity information no longer scattered across various platforms and institutions, but unified in a place you fully control. This method fundamentally changes the relationship between individuals and data. In the long run, such infrastructure will have profound significance for the development of the entire Web3 ecosystem.

Well said. Autonomous identity is indeed the cornerstone of Web3, but its implementation depends on how each public chain collaborates.

Sounds good, but in reality, can you really keep all the data under your control? It still feels a bit idealistic.

Sounds good, but is it really that easy to implement in practice? It feels like another wave of idealized narratives. Everyone talks about self-sovereign identity, but the question is, who ensures the security of the private keys... Isn't it still up to the user? Most people can't even remember their passwords. That said, if identity can truly be unified and controlled, I agree it can shake off the constraints of centralized platforms. My main concern is, what if one day the wallet gets hacked or the seed phrase is forgotten, and the identity is lost... Is it more free or more dangerous? After all this time of promoting Web3 infrastructure, why haven't we seen a killer application yet?

Well said. Autonomous identity is indeed a key infrastructure. It's much better than being exploited by major platforms to harvest users. If this can truly be implemented, how many people's privacy can be saved? Emm, but executing this might not be so simple. How to solve the issues related to cross-chain compatibility? Speaking of which, having control over your identity is really satisfying, but what if the private key is lost? There will be no way to cry. It should have been like this a long time ago. Decentralized identity management is the future. It feels like this is a core challenge that Web3 must tackle. Without it, everything else is pointless.

Well said. Self-managed identity is indeed the core breakthrough point of Web3, but the actual implementation depends on who can first make the user experience smooth.

Autonomous identity is indeed the big direction, but whether it can really be implemented depends on whether people actually use it. It sounds good, but who still trusts this kind of thing now? Data sovereignty sounds great, but I'm afraid it's just another utopian promise. I really like this logic, provided it doesn't get secretly taken over by some centralized organization again. The entire Web3 is talking about autonomy, but wallet addresses are still exposed clearly. The papers are well-written, but execution often falls flat; I've seen it too many times.
