When it comes to Cardano(ADA), the crypto community is always divided: one side criticizes its development as slow as a snail, while the other insists on holding and not letting go. As an observer who has been tracking this project for years, I have also experienced a shift in mindset—once calling it the "King of Doves," comparing it to other public chains that boast thousands of TPS and aggressive fundraising strategies, which indeed seemed overly conservative. But after reviewing the 2025 roadmap, I realized a widely overlooked truth: the crypto market has never been about who runs the fastest, but who can survive the longest. Many of the so-called high-performance new chains with instant confirmation and ultra-high throughput have already disappeared or become obsolete. Meanwhile, Cardano’s seemingly slow iterations over the past few years are fundamentally about building an extremely solid infrastructure—from the mathematical security verification of the Ouroboros consensus mechanism, to phased upgrade strategies, and balancing compliance with decentralization. Every step has been carefully thought out.

2025 will be a critical turning point for Cardano, with three key areas to watch. The foremost is the comprehensive rollout of the Voltaire upgrade. This is not just routine performance optimization but a complete decentralization of on-chain governance—an ecosystem treasury of 1.4 billion USD, with decision-making power fully in the hands of the token holder community. It sounds simple, but looking across the entire public chain ecosystem, how many chains dare to entrust such a massive fund pool to the community? Most are either decided solely by the project team or governance remains superficial. The significance of this step for Cardano is that it is demonstrating through concrete actions the feasibility of decentralized governance, rather than just paying lip service.

How's this article coming along? Just hyping up Cardano like that? I think taking time to do things carefully makes sense, but every time I think about how they've been dragging their feet for so many years... forget it, let's see how they perform in 2025.

Slow is slow, but at least people are still alive. Those who bragged have already died early.

Ha, is Voltaire really coming? Giving 1.4 billion to the community, I just want to see what these people can come up with... ADA should have been committed long ago, is this really happening now? Take it slow, this approach might be faster; can it last until 2025? No hype, no blackening, whether governance decentralization can succeed depends on whether the community voting can really make a difference. Let's wait for the mid-year data before talking; anyone can shout slogans. If Cardano really manages to get this right, other chains will have to reevaluate themselves. They said they would revolutionize in 2016, and now they’re still just telling stories? Pouring 1.4 billion USD into community decision-making, that’s a pretty big risk... It's ridiculously slow, but it’s indeed enduring; I respect that logic. Thinking about it, where are those new chains that once boasted sky-high? Maybe ADA’s conservative approach is actually right. Ouroboros’ mathematical validation is so rigorous, no wonder progress is slow, but what can you do? Decentralized governance sounds great, but I’m worried the community voting might still be a fragmented mess. Can this really prove anything this time? I’m a bit hopeful.

Cardano players, I've seen too many chains die, but this time it's really different. Here are some comments: Being slow is just how it is, giving 1.4 billion to the community is really bold. Is the time for the Pigeon King to turn things around? But will governance be a failure again? That's right, longevity is the key, those who hype TPS are long gone. Voltaire does have some real substance this time, but can the community really manage these 1.4 billion? I believe it, anyway other chains have failed, as long as ADA survives, it's a win. Mathematical validation > rapid iteration, finally someone said it. Decentralized governance sounds like empty talk, Cardano daring to do this is impressive. Holding for so many years, finally seeing some hope. This time it's not just slogans, the money is really going to the community, respect.

This analysis has some substance. I did complain about ADA's speed before, but the fact that Voltaire actually delegated 1.4 billion coins to the community is truly impressive. Other public chains wouldn't dare do that. Wait, can this really be executed? Based on historical experience, community governance often either becomes a formality or causes huge disputes. Why can ADA pull it off? Slow as it may be, this steady approach indeed lasts longer. Where have those once boastful high-performance chains gone? It all depends on who can make it to the end. By the way, is this roadmap real? Or is it going to be delayed again? ADA's problem needs fixing. I'm quite optimistic about this step. It's finally moving beyond just talk about decentralization.
