Starting in 2025, I gave up the obsession with perfection and learned to compromise with the market.

In the deep night of July, Ethereum's price suddenly surged rapidly. I was refreshing the trading interface, with my finger hovering over the sell button, constantly asking myself: Wait a bit longer? Watch a little more? That string was pulled very tight. Flashbacks of April appeared in my mind—the same market conditions, the same greed, because I wanted to gain that extra 5% increase, but the profit turned into nothing, and I watched helplessly as most of it was given back.

This time was different. When the price approached my target with only 3% left, I didn't keep gambling but pressed the sell button in three batches. When the transaction confirmation popped up, my palms broke out in cold sweat. I didn't sell at the highest point, but I also didn't lose everything.

This year, I finally understood: trading is not an art of pursuing perfection. In simple terms, it's about learning to make choices within the market's uncertainty—an art of managing regrets. The market will always exceed expectations, moving to places you didn't anticipate, but your position doesn't have to follow the risk all the way. It's like catching a train—rather than rushing to the platform at the last second, it's better to arrive five minutes early, and only then can you truly feel at ease.

Haha, this is me. I really took a big loss during that April wave, and I'm still regretting it.

Really, sometimes the 5% greed can lead to a 50% loss. I also got beaten up once in April... Taking profits in batches is definitely more stable, but I always feel a sense of regret in my heart, haha.

This is the lesson I didn't learn in 2024: still dreaming of selling at the peak, only to get stuck in a trap.

Oh no, this is me. During the April wave, I was also greedy and almost suffered a big loss. Now I'm just afraid of repeating it. --- Selling in batches is indeed more stable, much more reliable than going all in on that last line. --- "Mastering the art of managing regrets" is spot on, a hundred times more realistic than pursuing perfection. --- Not selling at the highest point but coming back alive—that's the essence of trading, isn't it? --- That late-night cold sweat part resonated with me so much... Every time I tell myself to wait a bit longer, and then there’s nothing afterward. --- It's actually just a more advanced way of saying take profit and stop loss, but realizing this definitely costs a lot of tuition fees.

Selling early is still better than losing everything. I took three years of blood, sweat, and tears to realize this truth.

This is the true essence of trading. Those who greed for 5% end up losing 50%. I went through the same painful experience last year.

Oh no, isn't this just a replay of my massive loss in April... Looks like we all have to suffer losses to learn to cut our losses.

This is what is called "rational expectations" in the off-chain market... It's much harder to control your fingers than to predict K-line trends, to be honest.
