A leading exchange recently made a big move—relocating its entire operating entity to Abu Dhabi.

Sounds impressive, but for us regular users, it’s basically unnoticeable.

So what’s going on? They obtained an ADGM (Abu Dhabi Global Market) license, and starting from **January 5, 2026**, their business will be split into three segments, each managed by a separate licensed company:

- Spot and derivatives trading
- Asset custody and clearing
- OTC trading, wealth management, and other value-added services

It sounds complex, but in reality, your experience won’t change. Logging into your account? Same as before. Asset balances? Still there. Position records? All intact. You can continue using the platform as usual.

Users basically don’t need to do anything—agreements will migrate automatically, and continuing to use the platform is considered consent. Of course, if you want to explicitly click “confirm,” you can; it’s just an extra step for peace of mind.

The only change might be in data management: from now on, your personal data will be managed separately by these three companies—spot data by the spot company, custody data by the custody company, and so on, with no crossover.

In short, this is a **compliance architecture upgrade**—regulation is more transparent, and security is theoretically higher, but for users, the impact is basically zero.

honestly this just feels like compliance theater to me—they moved the ops but we're still trusting the same entity with our bags, right? the data siloing sounds nice on paper but let me tell my students who've studied adgm frameworks... it's basically just regulatory checkbox stuff lol

It's the same regulatory framework again. It sounds nice, but ultimately it's just for their own compliance. Nothing changes for us users.

Same old trick—sounds impressive, but users don't actually feel anything.

Here we go again. It sounds nice, but decentralized data management still makes me a bit uneasy.

ngl, another compliance shuffle... back in my mining days we didn't have to deal with this fragmented custody nonsense, just solo mining rigs and pray the pool doesn't exit scam lol

Same old story, just old wine in a new bottle. We'll just keep using it the same way as before.
