Whale Returns to Old Habits: Spends $14 Million in Half a Month to Buy the Dip on AAVE—Do You Still Remember the Last Time They Got Liquidated at $101?

Abstract generation in progress

A big whale is back again. Remember the crash on October 11? A giant whale who played the looping loan game got liquidated, with 32,000 AAVE forcibly sold at $101.

But on November 24, this guy came back strong, continuing his old business—looping loans to stack AAVE. In less than half a month, he threw in $14 million USDC and swept up 80,900 AAVE at an average cost of $173 each.

Looking at his wallet now, through looping loans he’s accumulated a total of 333,000 AAVE, worth $62.59 million. His average cost is at $167, with a liquidation price set at $117.7.

This is a bold move with decent cost control. But with looping loans, leverage multiplies returns, yet if he can’t withstand a dip, he’ll have to start over. The lesson from the $101 liquidation is still right there.

Bro, you're really a "phoenix"—liquidated 101 times and still daring to keep stacking. You've got guts.

Bought in at $173, liquidation line at $117.7... this guy really dares to go all in. From the data, capital efficiency has improved, but this leverage ratio is honestly a bit crazy. Liquidated at $101 just two months ago and now going all in again. I calculated that if the price drops below around $120, he'll basically have to close out again. The risk model is concerning.

It's really a case of forgetting the pain once the wound has healed. Got liquidated at $101 and still dares to keep stacking. How tough must their nerves be...

Ha, this guy is really going wild again. Learn from past mistakes? That's not happening. Looping loans is a high-risk game, making money feels amazing, but when it crashes, you go straight to zero. He's going this hard this time, it's really intense. But honestly, to still have the drive to keep going after getting liquidated at 101, that's some incredible mental strength. If it were me, I would have switched careers long ago.
