Traditional market makers like Citadel? They thrive in opacity. Closed systems, black-box algorithms—it's the perfect setup to squeeze retail traders with hidden spreads and inflated costs. That's the game they've mastered for decades.
But here's the thing: open networks don't play by those rules. Transparent protocols, on-chain execution, no middlemen gaming the system. DeFi strips away the curtain these institutions hide behind.
Call it bold, but I'm calling it now—decentralized finance takes this round. The architecture favors transparency over extraction. And when the dust settles, retail finally gets a fair shot.

NGL, Citadel's tricks should have failed a long time ago. DeFi is really different... the transparency is overwhelming.

Ngl, I've heard this argument way too many times, but that Citadel black box stuff is definitely nasty. DeFi does have much better transparency... it's just that users still have to pay slippage fees, haha.

ngl, Citadel's behind-the-scenes manipulation is the same old trick. DeFi is indeed a bit more transparent... but truly fair? It still depends on how users play the game themselves.

The tricks played by centralized exchanges really deserve to die, but can DeFi truly be the savior? I don't think so. Sure, things are transparent on-chain, but slippage can still eat up half your profits.
Not gonna lie, Citadel is really disgusting, but we have to admit their ability to make money is way stronger than the people on-chain.
To put it bluntly, DeFi is still just a bunch of sharks, they've just swapped knives for smart contracts.
So in the end, isn't it just the new elite squeezing the old elite? The essence hasn't changed at all.

Well said, the traditional financial system should have gone bankrupt long ago... But DeFi isn't exactly innocent either—there's still a lot of exploiting newcomers. In the end, it's still a matter of human nature.

I'm already sick of the tricks used by centralized exchanges—DeFi is the real way forward.
