# SHIB will reach $1? Forget it.

Believers of Shiba Inu love to ask this question: When will SHIB rise to $1? To be honest, math doesn't lie.

The current price of SHIB is $0.000008, with a circulation of 589.2 trillion coins. Want it to rise to $1? The market cap would need to become $589.2 trillion - that's 5 times the global economic output, and 10 times the total market cap of the S&P 500. What demand could support this number?

Some say it can be achieved by "burning coins" (sending tokens to a black hole address to destroy circulation). There is no problem theoretically, but to burn 99.99998% of the tokens to justify the price to $1. At the current burning rate (an average of 94.2 million coins per month), it will take 520,000 years. Yes, you read that right—520,000 years.

What’s even more heartbreaking is that even if it really runs out, the number of tokens in your hand will decrease by 99.99998%, and the earnings will be directly offset. It’s like telling the same story in a different way, but the ending hasn’t changed.

There's an interesting comparison: if you invested $1000 in Netflix in 2004, it would now be worth $560,000; the same amount in NVIDIA in 2005 would yield similar results. What about SHIB? It has dropped 90% from its peak in 2021 and continues to decline. It lacks a real use case—it's neither a payment tool nor a store of value, and the Metaverse ecosystem hasn't taken off either.

In short, the story of SHIB is over.
