[TRON Technology Update | Java-tron v4.8.1 (Democritus) Mandatory Upgrade has officially launched on the Nile Testnet]
The core developer team of TRON announced yesterday: The pre-release version of GreatVoyage-v4.8.1 (Democritus) has completed the mandatory upgrade of the Nile test network. This upgrade is not a regular patch, but a systematic restructuring focused on three core dimensions:
The compatibility of the architecture has been fully enhanced.
• Deeply optimize the state synchronization mechanism between nodes to significantly reduce the probability of hard forks.
• Reconstructed internal event bus, stability of P2P network improved by about 37% under high load scenarios.
EVM behavioral consistency benchmarked against Ethereum Shanghai + Cancun
• Fix 12 behaviors that are inconsistent with the latest EVM specifications (including PUSH0, TRANSIENT STORAGE, etc.)
• Allows Ethereum contracts written in Solidity/Vyper to be migrated to TRON with almost no modifications.
Cybersecurity and Resource Governance Upgrade
• Introduce stricter trading broadcasting and block validation rules to defend against new types of DoS vectors.
• Fine-tuning of energy/bandwidth models to suppress the excessive use of network resources by malicious contracts.
• A brand new proposal system has launched on Nile for on-chain voting, effective only on the testnet, with the mainnet decisions depending on governance results.
For developers and ecological projects, this means:
• Higher contract portability, reducing cross-chain development costs
• More predictable runtime behavior, reducing hidden bugs caused by EVM differences.
• A more stable underlying network paves the way for large-scale applications in DeFi, GameFi, and SocialFi.
The current Nile full node has completed a 100% upgrade. It is recommended that all developers, validating nodes, and DApp teams immediately synchronize to version v4.8.1 for compatibility testing.
TRON is accelerating towards its ultimate goal of "maximum EVM compatibility + maximum TPS + minimum cost" at a visibly rapid pace.
This upgrade is not just a simple version number increment, but a crucial leap in the technical roadmap of the Tron.
