What does this number represent? It is equivalent to the living expenses of an average family for two years, or a decent second-hand car.

But this is not the most interesting part. If we scale this calculation down to Spain —

There is a key concept to understand: the M2 mentioned here is not the total global wealth (which is $487.9 trillion, including real estate, stocks, and various assets), but rather "money that can be quickly converted into cash" - such as the deposits in your bank account, liquid savings, and short-term time deposits.

The reality is that the distribution of wealth in the world is extremely uneven. This average figure is actually meaningless—some people have only a few dollars in their pockets, while others have tens of billions in their accounts. But this thought experiment reveals a harsh fact: even if all "liquid money" were evenly distributed, humanity still needs to create real wealth through labor, innovation, and investment.
