Ministry of Commerce: China urges the U.S. to quickly stop the 232 tariff measures.

[Ministry of Commerce: China urges the U.S. to promptly cease the 232 tariff measures] On the afternoon of May 15, the Ministry of Commerce held a regular press conference. Ministry spokesperson He Yong said: Regarding the U.S. tariffs on imported automobiles and steel and aluminum under Section 232, as well as the U.S. investigation into imported medicines under Section 232, China believes that the U.S. actions are typical of unilateralism and protectionism, which not only harm the rights and interests of other countries and undermine the multilateral trade system based on rules, but also are detrimental to the development of its own industries. China urges the U.S. to promptly stop the 232 tariff measures and to properly address the concerns of all parties through equal dialogue. (Riyuetantian)
