[Ghana plans to regulate digital assets by September 2025] Ghana is dabbling in cryptocurrency regulation. Bank of Ghana Governor Johnson Asiama has announced plans to regulate digital assets by September 2025, ahead of the introduction of the Virtual Asset Providers Act. The Central Bank of Ghana recognizes that the rise of blockchain is unstoppable and will launch a dedicated digital asset department. This marks a shift from its 2018 warning against the use of Crypto Assets.
