Wu learned that Galaxy Research proposed the "Multi-Choice Voting Weighted Aggregation Mechanism (MESA)" to replace the binary voting method currently used in Solana's inflation governance, allowing validators to express preferences for different deflation rates to address the community consensus split issue after SIMD-228 was rejected. This mechanism allows validators to express their support for different deflation rate tiers and determines the final result through a weighted average. Solana's current annualized inflation rate is 4.6%, with a target of 1.5%.
