Trump: Agrees to suspend bombing and attacks on Iran within two weeks

BlockBeatNews

BlockBeats message, on April 8, U.S. President Trump said: “Based on my meetings with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Sharif and Pakistan’s Army General Asim Munir, they asked me tonight not to deploy destructive forces against Iran. And, on the condition that Iran agrees to fully, immediately, and safely open the Strait of Hormuz, I agree to suspend the bombing and attacks on Iran for two weeks.

This will be a two-way ceasefire! The reason for doing so is that we have already reached, and even surpassed, all military objectives, and we have made significant progress in reaching a long-term peace agreement with Iran and a peace agreement for the Middle East. We have received Iran’s ten-point proposals, and we believe this is a viable basis for negotiations.

Nearly all of the past points of contention between the United States and Iran have been settled. The two weeks’ time will allow the agreement to be finalized and take effect. As President of the United States, and on behalf of the countries of the Middle East, I am extremely honored to make progress in resolving this long-standing issue.” (Jin 10)
