On December 11, James Seyffart, an ETF analyst at Bloomberg, replied on social media ETH how staking will affect ETH ETF-related questions, saying that ETH pledged ETFs already exist in Europe, and there are slight differences in structure from ordinary ETFs, but they are absolutely feasible in terms of function, such as AETH (21Shares Ethereum Staking ETP) launched by 21Shares. The problem is that there's no way to know how the SEC will handle this or what they'll allow.
When asked about the likelihood of ETH spot ETF approval, James Seyffart said that ETF spot ETFs are very likely to be approved (although not as likely as BTC spot ETFs), but if BTC spot ETFs are approved, it would be a positive sign for ETH spot ETFs to be approved.
