How XRP Must Perform Against BTC and ETH to Spark a Rally

After spending the past month trading between $2.70 and $2.06, XRP now sits around $2.40, not bad for a token that’s been battling for attention while Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) dominate the headlines.

According to a report shared by TheCryptoBasic, analysts are closely watching how XRP performs against both BTC and ETH. They believe the next breakout for the Ripple token depends on where it manages to close against these two giants.

XRP Price Struggles to Break Key Resistance

After a strong rebound on November 10, XRP price closed the day up 6.7% at $2.47. However, it failed to close above $2.52, a level that has acted as a ceiling since the last drop.

Analyst CryptoInsightUK said a close above $2.52 would show renewed buyer confidence and could push the price toward $2.64, the next key target. Breaking that zone might signal the start of a new rally.

For now, XRP remains in a “decision zone,” where even a small move could decide its short-term direction.

XRP vs ETH: The Race to Outperform

The battle between XRP and ETH is another major focus. On November 10, XRP nearly broke a key resistance at 0.0007102 ETH, reaching 0.0007075 ETH before pulling back.

That level has limited XRP’s growth for months, making it an important milestone for traders to watch.

CryptoInsightUK said XRP needs to close above 0.00071 ETH on the daily chart to confirm a bullish breakout. He added that XRP only has to outperform ETH by about 2.27% to reach that level, a small move compared to its earlier 7% surge that same day.

This would show XRP is not just stable but slowly gaining strength in the market.

XRP vs BTC: The Bigger Test

Bitcoin still sets the pace for most crypto assets, including XRP. According to TheCryptoBasic, XRP recovered losses from October’s crash and closed above all daily candle levels from October 10 to November 11.

But XRP now faces a tough resistance zone between 0.00002436 BTC and 0.00002528 BTC, a level that acted as strong support earlier in 2025. After losing it in April, briefly reclaiming it in July, and dropping again in October, XRP must now fight to break through.

CryptoInsightUK said XRP needs a close above 0.000024 BTC to 0.00002531 BTC to confirm a real trend reversal. A close on a higher timeframe, like the 3-day chart, would make that signal even stronger and could mark a key turning point for Ripple’s price story.

Beyond the day-to-day moves, some analysts see a broader structure forming. Levi Rietvald, also featured by TheCryptoBasic, pointed out a cup-and-handle pattern on XRP’s 3-day chart. The cup formed when XRP dropped from $3.4 to $1.6 earlier in the year, before rebounding to $3.66. The handle now forms a descending channel, and the token continues to trade within it.

According to Rietvald’s outlook, a confirmed breakout from that handle could open a path toward $5 by the end of the year. It remains a technical view not a promise but it adds an intriguing layer to XRP’s chart setup.
