The crypto market is warming up, and this "ceasefire signal" has some substance
The situation in the Middle East has suddenly eased.
U.S. President Trump announced a two-week pause on bombing and military actions against Iran. The condition is that Iran must agree to allow the Strait of Hormuz to be "fully, immediately, and safely open."
Iran also responded:
Through statements by the Foreign Minister and the Supreme National Security Council, during the ceasefire, defensive actions will be suspended, and in coordination with the military, ships will be allowed to resume passage within technical feasibility.
The market’s main concern: shipping has started to move.
Currently, over 1,000 ships are stranded on both sides of the strait, and some cargo ships have begun tentative navigation. The U.S. also said it would help manage congestion, even suggesting that this round of easing could bring "huge wealth" and usher in the so-called "Middle East Golden Age."
Sounds great, right? But don’t rush to go all in.
This is essentially a "temporary easing," not a complete reversal.
First, this is just a two-week ceasefire window aimed at buying time for negotiations. It’s expected that talks will be advanced starting April 10 in places like Pakistan.
Second, none of the deeper issues have been resolved: nuclear concerns, regional power struggles, and the confrontation between Israel and Iran remain looming swords.
Iran has already called this ceasefire a "phase victory" and put forward 10 demands, including lifting sanctions and rebuilding relations; while Israel’s stance has softened somewhat, it has not truly stopped its actions.
Looking at shipping, it’s not fully stable either.
Control of the Strait of Hormuz still lies with Iran, and issues like whether permits are needed, tolls, and security coordination remain uncertain.
In other words, the "water surface is starting to flow," but the undercurrents are still strong.
If negotiations after two weeks don’t go smoothly, everything could reverse at any time, and risks will be re-priced.
In summary:
This is a positive development, but only a short-term liquidity boost, not a fundamental reversal.
The market may rise, but don’t think the world is at peace.
