Dell CEO: AI memory demand will surge by 625 times; the debate isn't whether to buy but when to buy
CoinEx.com news: Dell Technologies CEO Michael Dell said the AI wave will drive explosive growth in global memory demand, which is expected to surge by 625 times. This astonishing forecast is based on two main factors: the memory capacity of a single server or device will expand by about 25 times, and the overall scale of AI-related deployments will also grow by about 25 times. Despite constrained supply, Michael Dell is optimistic about the overall demand outlook for AI infrastructure and pointed out two key demand lines. One is sovereign AI investment: among the countries around the top 25 in global GDP, most are advancing their domestic sovereign AI projects in some form, and rising geopolitical tensions further accelerate each country’s willingness to build autonomous AI capabilities, thereby keeping server demand consistently strong. The other is productivity-driven demand on the enterprise side: it is unreasonable for employees to continue using outdated PCs or inefficient systems, and for productivity reasons, companies will have to keep pushing forward with infrastructure investment. In response to demand uncertainties in the market, Michael Dell offered a clear qualitative judgment. The current disagreement in the market is not about whether to buy, but about when to buy.
