China Steel Association: In late February, the national daily crude steel output was 2.5 million tons, a decrease of 0.1% month-on-month.

According to data from the China Iron and Steel Association, in the latter half of February 2026, major tracked steel companies together produced 16.22 million metric tons of crude steel, with an average daily output of 2.03M metric tons; daily output decreased 0.1% month-over-month. They produced 15.18 million metric tons of pig iron, with an average daily output of 1.9M metric tons; daily output increased 2.9% month-over-month. They produced 16.89 million metric tons of steel products, with an average daily output of 2.11M metric tons; daily output increased 11.0% month-over-month. Based on these estimates, this period’s nationwide daily output of crude steel is 2.5 million metric tons, down 0.1% month-over-month; daily pig iron production is 2.29 million metric tons, up 2.9% month-over-month; and daily steel product output is 4.10 million metric tons, up 3.0% month-over-month.
