Abstract generation in progress

Today (March 6), the largest cylindrical “offshore oil and gas factory” designed and built independently in our country— the cylindrical semi-submersible floating production, storage, and offloading unit for the Kaiping Nan oilfield development project—started construction in Qingdao. Su Wei, General Manager of Engineering Construction for CNOOC’s Kaiping Oilfield Engineering, said the newly built unit features a 30-year dry-dock-free ultra-high-standard design. It overcomes a set of turnkey technologies for designing, building, and installing deep-water ultra-large cylindrical-type floating production equipment, enabling the first large-scale application of more than 10 domestically produced key equipment items and adding 15 intelligent functional modules. Once completed, it will become the cylindrical “offshore oil and gas factory” with the largest size and weight in Asia, the strongest oil and gas processing capacity, and the highest level of intelligence.
