A vulnerability in the surveillance system led to over 300 people being taken away? Hikvision responds: Fake
On April 7, a rumor about Hikvision spread rapidly across social media platforms. The forwarded images claimed that Hikvision’s surveillance system had a vulnerability, and that more than 300 people at the headquarters were taken away for investigation. In response to the rumor, a reporter called Hikvision in the capacity of an investor; the customer service representative clearly stated that the above claim was false, that the company has no such situation, and emphasized “don’t believe rumors and don’t spread them.” Based on the representative’s personal understanding, the company currently has no related business in Iran.
