ME News update: On April 5 (UTC+8), Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps issued a statement saying that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy and Aerospace Force jointly launched the 96th wave of the “True Promise -4” operation in the early hours of April 5. The statement said the Revolutionary Guard Corps launched a fierce attack on the Haifa refinery that provides fuel to Israeli fighter jets, destroying its core portion. It used missiles to strike the natural gas facilities of ExxonMobil and Chevron located in Habshan, the UAE, as well as the petrochemical plant in Ruwais, the UAE. In addition, multiple petrochemical facilities located in Bahrain’s Sitra and Kuwait’s Shuaiba were also hit by drones and missiles, causing operations at the related facilities to come to a complete standstill and triggering large-scale fires.
