【Cost-driven and tight supply support, bottle flakes trading in a high-range range】Caixin Media April 3: This week’s polyester bottle flake prices followed an “N”-shaped trend. The East China average price was 8,670 yuan per ton, up 0.99% month-on-month. At the start of the week, geopolitical developments pushed up costs, driving prices higher; in the middle of the week, the distraction from negotiations combined with resistance to high prices led to a pullback; on Thursday, prices rebounded due to PTA major producer maintenance and a strengthening basis. On the supply side, operating rates remained stable, and spot availability was relatively tight; on the demand side, only small orders for just-needed purchases were followed. It is expected that next week prices will trade in a stronger sideways pattern. The cost side will still be the core driver. Geopolitics and PTA maintenance provide strong support, and tight supply is expected to continue. However, downstream acceptance of high prices is limited, so the expected trading range is 8,500-9,300 yuan per ton. (Zhichuang Information)
