On April 4, a reporter from the Central Broadcasting Station learned on April 3 local time that US officials stated that the drone attack by Iran on the US Embassy in Saudi Arabia in March caused more severe damage than previously disclosed, indicating that Iran has the capability to strike US assets in Saudi Arabia. The attack occurred on March 3, when an Iranian drone evaded the air defense systems of Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, and crashed into the US Embassy. One minute later, a second drone flew into the breach created by the first drone and exploded. US officials reported that the attack hit a secure area of the embassy and caused significant damage to multiple floors of the building. The CIA’s local station was also within the affected area. The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Defense stated on March 3 that, according to preliminary assessments, the US Embassy in Saudi Arabia was attacked by two drones that day, causing localized fires and minor damage to the building.
