Trump: The downing of the fighter jet does not affect negotiations with Iran

U.S. President Trump told the media that the downing of U.S. military aircraft would not affect negotiations with Iran. On Friday, U.S. military aircraft—a F15E and an A10—were each struck by Iranian air-defense artillery and crashed, with 2 of the 3 aircrew members confirmed rescued, while the other’s whereabouts remain unknown.

When asked what the United States would do if this airman in need of rescue were captured and injured by Iran, Trump said he could not comment on what actions would be taken, but he hoped that this situation would not happen.
