Abu Dhabi's main natural gas facilities are temporarily shut down after debris interception caused a fire in the area.

After a fire broke out at Abu Dhabi’s largest natural gas processing plant, operations were suspended. This marks the facility’s second shutdown since the war began in the Middle East.

A message posted by the Abu Dhabi Media Office on X said that the Habshan gas facility has paused operations. Previously, fragments from intercepted attacks fell into the site. Abu Dhabi National Oil Company operates this major natural gas gathering and processing facility in the UAE.

Habshan also has oil facilities and is the starting point of an crude oil pipeline from Abu Dhabi National Oil Company to Fujairah, a major port outside the Strait of Hormuz.

A few hours earlier, a refinery in Kuwait—the Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery—was also attacked, causing equipment that was running to catch fire. Authorities also said that a power and seawater desalination plant was attacked on Friday early morning, with some equipment damaged.
